The LPI, developed by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, authors of the best-selling book, The Leadership Challenge, is designed to measure specific leadership behaviors and contribute to your development as a leader.

The LPI is a self-assessment to help the leader reflect on how they apply the Five Practices so they can identify their strengths and opportunities for growth related to their leadership. It is backed by more than 35 years of academic research that ensures its validity and reliability.

The LPI assessment and feedback can be done in English or Spanish.

The Five Leadership Practices of Exemplary Leadership ®

The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership® were developed by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. They have studied leadership for more than thirty years. Their research was focused on identifying what do effective leaders do when they are at their personal best.

The set of observable skills and abilities – behaviors – they identified are the basis for The Leadership Practices Inventory®.

According to Kouzes and Posner leadership development is self-development

Self-development starts with self-assessment. You examine yourself to find out your strengths and areas you need to improve or develop.

There are leaders at every level of an organization. The LPI self-assessment is a great tool for individuals who aspire to become a leader or who want to improve their leadership and need a clear path to do so.

You will have a coaching session in which you will work with an executive coach to review and understand the results of your report and define a leadership development plan.
